Leonards Motors was established in 1970 by Michael Leonard.
It is situated on Mulgrave Street, which is named after Constantine Phipps, Earl of Mulgrave, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1835–39.
This site was one of 12 listed venues for the 28th edition of EVA in 2004, curated by Zdenka Badovinac (b. 1958, Slovenia) and titled Imagine Limerick.
This was one of the venues where Mark Cullen (b. 1960, Ireland) and Brian Duggan (b. 1971, Ireland) presented their work Short Shorts (2003).
Short Shorts was a series of original short films produced over a nine-month period through weekly workshops with youth participants in Tallaght, Dublin.
