  • This former church is on the grounds of the Good Shepherd Magdalene Laundry, which operated for over 100 years.
  • This complex once consisted of a commercial laundry, an industrial school, a reformatory school for girls, an orphanage, a convent and a church.
  • The Magdalene Laundry closed in 1990 and the site was repurposed as the Limerick School of Art and Design, LIT (Limerick Institute of Technology) in 1995, now known as TUS (Technical University of the Shannon).
  • The Church Gallery has been used as a venue for EVA for six editions – in 2010, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2002 and 1996.
  • This site was one of 23 listed venues for the 31st edition of EVA in 2007, curated by Klaus Ottmann (b. 1964, Germany). Anthony McCall (b. 1946, UK) exhibited Between You and I (2006) – a large-scale work that uses light projection to produce a series of animated sculptural forms in the dark of the exhibition space.
