This site is a billboard space on John’s Street in Limerick city centre.
John’s Street is home to Donkey Fords, one of the most quintessential Limerick chippers, which has operated for over 70 years.
This billboard space hosted an artwork by artist Eimear Walshe (Ireland) titled How much no thanks (2020) for the 39th edition of EVA.
The work features a photograph of Walshe standing next to a map of Ireland, with hand-painted tears falling down the artist’s face.
It was one of three newly commissioned works that Walshe presented for the 39th edition of EVA, including The Land Question: Where the fuck am I supposed to have sex? (2020) and Trade School (2021).
