This former cornstore on the corner of Henry Street and Shannon Street was built in the late 18th century and is an important example of Limerick’s industrial heritage.
Rising above the streetscape at six storeys high, this former mill building was restored and renovated in 2007 by Carr Associates Architects as a mixed-use site, providing retail and residential space in the city centre.
This site was one of the 16 listed venues for the 22nd edition of EVA in 2001 curated by Salah M Hassan (b. 1964, Sudan) with Iftikhar Dadi (b. 1982, Pakistan).
Here Andrew Duggan (b. 1964, Ireland) presented a work titled Tower, which consisted of five large-scale photographic works detailing a face, arranged vertically on the exterior walls of the building.
