The O’Connell Street Mall existed on the site of the former Woolworths store in Limerick city centre.
The mall contained a number of retail outlets, one of which was used as a venue for the 20th edition of EVA in 1996, curated by Guy Tortosa (b. 1961, France).
The street where the mall was located was originally named George’s Street and renamed O’Connell Street in remembrance of the 19th-century political leader Daniel O’Connell.
Here, Gary Somers (b. 1969) exhibited an installation of functioning air fresheners with different scents and colours.
