  • Currently an office of a property management company, this venue is situated in a newly developed commercial unit on the site of the former Carlton Cinema, which opened in 1942.
  • Up until the 1970s almost each district in Limerick had its own cinema, such as the Athenaeum/Royal Cinema (Cecil Street), the Savoy Cinema (Bedford Row) and the Astor Cinema (Sexton Street). The cinemas screened both popular movies of the time and repeats from the past. Today there is no full-time cinema open in the city centre.
  • This site was one of 10 venues for the 32nd edition of EVA in 2008, curated by Hou Hanru (b. 1963, China) and titled too early for vacation.
  • James Hayes (b. 1974, Ireland) presented A Room Full of Domestic Bliss (2007), a work that consisted of ten painted bronze sculptures of a fly swatter.
