31 Nicholas Street
- Nicholas Street is located in the medieval area of Limerick city, once called Englishtown.
- Various businesses have operated out of this site, including a second hand furniture shop, a Tourism Hub, a Cafe and a Polish supermarket.
- This site was one of nineteen venues used for the 41st edition of EVA International in 2025 presented as part of the Guest Programme, It Takes a Village, curated by Eszter Szakács in collaboration with the EVA team.
- During this edition this site was home to STARLING, a visual art space and platform for both local and international artists and projects. STARLING is led by artist-curators Teresa Collins and Ailbhe W. Drohan.
- That year, Eoghan Ryan (b. 1987) showed a video installation at this venue titled Carceral Jigs (2025), that used children’s television tropes, scenes of musical rehearsal, 3D puppetry, and linguistic tongue twisters traced across documentary interviews, archival footage, and recent protest recordings to expose mutations, contradictions, and shifting rhythms within Irish nationalism today.
