  • This open market space next to the Abbey River was designed by William Henshaw Owen in the mid 19th century as a potato market; there were four other markets in the city, for corn, pig, hay and butter.
  • This site is currently a car park and it has been used as a venue for EVA for two editions in 2009 and 2004.
  • This site was one of six listed venues for the 33rd edition of EVA in 2009, curated by Angelika Nollert (b. 1966, Germany) and Yilmaz Dziewior (b. 1964, Germany) and titled reading the city.
  • In 2009, Eduardo Navarro (b. 1979, Argentina) exhibited a work titled From Your House to My House (2009), consisting of a small shed between recycling bins that the artist lived in, while making small sculptures and artist books from the rubbish.
  • The artist describes his practice as ‘creat[ing] environments where the surroundings of the artwork are taken into consideration and contemplated upon‘. ’I search for alternatives to pre-existing structures in society and alter them in subtle ways,’ he says.
