  • Built in the early 20th century to the designs of Patrick Joseph Sheahan (b. 1893, Ireland; d. 1965), this riverside building was initially home to Saint Anne’s Vocational School for girls and women.
  • It is currently part of the campus of Limerick School of Art and Design, formerly part of the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT), now known as the Technical University of the Shannon (TUS).
  • This site was one of 14 venues for the 34th edition of EVA in 2010, curated by Elizabeth Hatz (b. 1953, Sweden), and was host to an exhibition featuring 18 Irish and international artists.
  • Johanna Hällsten (b. 1973, Sweden) presented an audio work titled Babbling Brook (2007), which involved the artist translating (into Swedish language) the sounds of the river. The work was made available to visitors via headphones, installed to overlook the River Shannon.
