  • Bridge Street Motors is a former auto repair shop on Bridge Street, one of the oldest streets in Limerick.
  • This shop was once called Percy Claffey Motors. It is now derelict, and used as storage for The Locke Bar.
  • The exterior of the building has been used as a venue for EVA for three editions – in 2005, 2002 and 2001.
  • This site was one of 18 listed venues for the 26th edition of EVA in 2002, curated by Apinan Poshyananda (b. 1956, Thailand) and titled heroes + holies.
  • Iftikhar Dadi (b. 1961, Pakistan) and Elizabeth Dadi (b. 1957, USA) presented Clash of Civilizations (2002), a billboard exploring American political scientist Samuel Huntington’s idea of the ‘Clash of Civilizations’ – a theory that future wars would be fought not between countries but between cultures.
  • In 2004 this site was not used as a venue but as subject matter by photographer Dorit Margeiter (b. 1967, Austria). It was included in her series Untitled (Los Angeles) (2004), which was exhibited in the Limerick City Gallery of Art.
