  • St Mary’s Church was built in 1930–32 to the designs of the architectural firm Ashlin and Coleman, which comprised George Coppinger Ashlin and Thomas Coleman.
  • This site was one of 23 venues for the 31st edition of EVA in 2007, curated by Klaus Ottmann (b. 1964, Germany).
  • St. Mary’s Church was one of numerous sites of a project by Miriam Lohan (b. 1975, Ireland) titled Ringing Limerick. On 7 May 2007, between 11:15am and 11:45am, the artist organised 13 churches around Limerick city to ring their bells simultaneously.
