Address

Roches Street, LimerickGoogle MapsArrow
  • Roches Street is named after the affluent Roche family, who were bankers and merchants in Limerick during the 18th century, and supported Edmund Sexton Pery in his development of Newtown Pery.
  • This site was one of 10 listed venues for the 35th edition of EVA in 2012, curated by Annie Fletcher (b. 1971, Ireland).
  • Here Alice Rekab (b. 1987, Ireland) presented their work One Plate (2012). This work took multiple forms, including a two-channel video installation, a billboard poster and a large vinyl print, all of which reference a Sierra Leonean musical comedy titled In Bulgar, which addresses the day-to-day life of people during and after the civil war that took place in Sierra Leone between 1991 and 2002.
